InfusAID is a licensed Durable Medical Equipment (DME) provider. We bill the patient's insurance company for the rental of the pump and associated disposable supplies. Your facility would bill for the medication, hook-up, supervision, post access, disconnection of the pump, and associated office charge.

What does InfusAID offer?

InfusAID offers top-notch, continuous ambulatory infusion services nationwide. We will provide your office with as many ambulatory infusion pumps and supplies as you need.

With our preferred Patient Consignment option, your office will not have to purchase or rent infusion pumps for any of your patients receiving reimbursable infusion therapies. Your office bills for pump management, drugs, and other office-related services. InfusAID will only bill for the pump usage and disposable supplies.

Taking advantage of InfusAID's Ambulatory Infusion Pump Management Service means you avoid having outdated pumps. We have single, dual, and four-channel portable electronic ambulatory infusion pumps available. We also offer support at any time of day with our 24-hour Patient Pump Hotline.

What is the typical procedure?

At InfusAID, ambulatory infusion pump management is as easy as 1,2,3:
  1. Determine the specific type of ambulatory infusion pump and quantity of pump/supplies that will meet the needs of your patients.
  2. Determine the specific quantity of pumps and supplies.
  3. InfusAID will provide a hands-on approach that includes full in-servicing of nursing and support personnel.
Your office submits the following information via our website:
InfusAID provides the following in return:

  • Disposable supplies (specific to the pump being used)

How can I sign in?

Contact Us to become a customer and receive your unique User Name and Password. Once you have that information, simply sign in to place an order, enroll your patient, and keep track of your patients in our unique patient database and treatment log.

What are the insurance/billing criteria?

Insurance Practices & Requirements:
  • The drug is administered by a prolonged infusion of at least 8 hours because of proven improved clinical efficacy.
  • The therapeutic regimen is proven or generally accepted to have significant advantages over intermittent bolus administration regimens, or infusion lasting less than 8 hours.
  • We are a participating provider and bill in accordance with the guidelines dictated by Medicare/HCFA.
  • Many patients' insurance plans dictate that they must have a PCP referral number and/or Authorization number when starting them on an ambulatory infusion pump.
  • When your office calls either the patient's insurance company or the referring physician to get authorization for performing ambulatory infusion of chemotherapy medications via our pump, your office will need to inform the authorizing party that you will "be using an infusion pump provided by InfusAID".
  • We are an in-network provider with many managed care providers, but we work on a patient-by-patient basis to verify/negotiate our pump usage and supply reimbursement.
Billing Practices & Requirements
  • InfusAID is a licensed Medicare provider of Durable Medical Equipment.
  • We comply with Medicare's billing guidelines:
    • Bill patient's primary insurance carrier for monthly pump rental & supplies
    • Bill patient's secondary insurance carrier for any amounts not covered by primary insurance carrier
    • Bill patient directly for any co-pay and/or deductible that is dictated by their insurance carrier(s)

24-Hour Toll-Free Patient Hotline Number for facilities and patients

Oncology/IV Certified Nurses:
Our toll-free number is staffed by RNs trained in handling infusion pump questions over the telephone. Our nurses will triage all incoming calls to determine the necessary course of action and appropriate follow-up. Most pump problems can be solved over the phone in a matter of minutes.

Documentation:
All calls are documented with the occurrence, corrective action, and possible follow-up if necessary.

On-Call Back-Up:
We have on-call nurses available at all times. Our nurses are required to call the patient within ten minutes of receipt of the call. In case of high call volume, a back-up nurse is always available.

Nurse Training:
Our nurses are brought into our home office periodically during the year for infusion pump updates.

The use of our program can reduce costs for both you and your patients. Your facility will not have to utilize your own on-call nurses and your patient's insurance benefits will not be used up by unnecessary home nursing visits. Your office will also have access to our collection of patient education materials and knowledge.

Dedicated Customer Support Team:
  • InfusAID's internal corporate structure features a vertical team-approach to service our customers and patients. Each of our facilities has a dedicated Team Member in each of our departments responsible for ensuring that your needs and the needs of your patients are being met.
  • Territory Manager: Your Territory Manager is responsible for ensuring that your facility and your patient's needs are being met. Your dedicated Team Manager will educate you and your staff about InfusAID's many products and services.
  • Customer Service Representative: Each of our customers has a dedicated Customer Service Representative (CSR) responsible for processing your facility's orders and paperwork/online forms. When you place an order, you always work with a representative who knows your account needs.
  • Billing Specialist: Each Team has at least one dedicated Billing Specialist. The billing specialist is responsible for processing the completed paperwork/online forms that your office has sent in/submitted reporting the specific patient(s) and pump therapy date(s) of service. The Billing Specialist can also assist your office with questions specific to the codes that your office bills for reimbursement.
  • Managed Care Specialist: InfusAID now employs a staff dedicated to assisting your facility when you run into resistance using our pump management program on a patient that has a managed care insurance plan. The Managed Care Specialist will work with your facility to help ensure that both InfusAID and your office are receiving the pump usage, disposable supply, and pump management reimbursement.
